SUPERFOOD MADE IN BAVARIA: QUINOA

Since 2020, the Münchner Bauern Genossenschaft eG in Feldmoching has been growing the superfood QUINOA exclusively for Dussmann Food Services. Not only is the grain ideal for preparing modern and traditional dishes. We also save around 25,418 kg of CO2 every year compared to conventional procurement thanks to the short transportation route.

THE CHICKPEA AS A POWERHOUSE

In the 2022 harvest year, our pilot project “CHICKPEA” was rewarded with an astonishing first yield of 1.7 tons of ripe chickpeas. These are now stored under perfect climatic conditions in paper bags in our warehouse. This handling saves us around 7083 tin cans of packaging waste and several thousand kilograms of CO2 during transportation.
